Ok, don’t tell but those of you in the reading club, you need to go see Mr. Hersh’s website.  It’s pretty cool, and it helps you remember what you need to read by next week.  Also, comment to him.  He would love to hear from you just like I do.  The website is http://challengerbookclub.edublogs.org/.  Check it out and let me know you checked it out!

Ok, I asked for it.  What do you want me to teach you about weather.  Obviously we are starting at the basics.  But, what specifically do you want me to teach you about weather?  You name it, I’ll teach it! (As long as it’s weather related!)

Ok, new unit and it looks like it might be the last unit this year.  We live in one of the most active weather places on earth.  What do you want me to teach you about weather in this unit?  We could spend months talking about weather, but we don’t have much time!  What interests you the most?  As always, comment away!!

Ok, now that you have the basics for biomes, answer this question for me.  If you had the chance to visit or even live in a different biome than the one you live in now, which one would it be.  For me, I would say it would have to be the Taiga.  I love the mountains, and the cooler weather than here.  Also, being around a lot of tall trees would be kinda fun.  Don’t you think?  What about you?  Which biome would you like to visit?

Welcome to the blog Discovery!  This is the coolest thing to help you with science!  Everything on this website is about what we do in 5th grade science in Goddard.  Everything you do in Mrs. Brooks’ class, we do in our class in Challenger.  There is tons of info here to help you further understand what we talk about in class.

You can even leave comments on each topic!  If you know of a cool website, or you have some great information about a topic, go ahead and post the comment.  Be careful with the comments though.  Not all of them will be posted.  Only the best!

We have people all over the world checking out this website, so check in often and enjoy the website!

Check out www.googleearth.com.  This is that free program that you can download to see from satellites up in the sky.  Remember, Kansas pictures are about 3 years old.  Even my house isn’t built yet, and I have lived there for over two years!!!  Any cool places the class should visit?

Has anyone ever heard of geocaching?  This is a way cool thing to do instead of sitting in front of the TV.  Does anyone hunt for these caches?  I am going to teach this topic to you around spring break, and you will love it!!  For starters, check out www.geocaching.com.  Let me know what you think.
